Chilli Chicken
Here is a recipe for making chilly chicken:
Ingredients:
- 500 grams chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1 small green bell pepper, diced
- 1 small red bell pepper, diced
- 1 small yellow bell pepper, diced
- 1 small red chilli pepper, finely
- chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chilli sauce (such as
- Sriracha or gochujang)
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- (optional)
Instructions:
- Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook until it is no longer pink. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Add the bell peppers and chilli pepper (if using) and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, water, and cornstarch.
- Add the sauce to the pan and bring it to a boil.
- Add the cooked chicken to the pan and toss to coat it with the sauce.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro (if using) and serve over rice or noodles.
