Ingredients:
For the kofta:
500g minced chicken
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Oil for frying
For the gravy:
2 tbsp oil
1 bay leaf
2 green cardamom pods
2 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
Salt to taste
1 cup tomato puree
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Instructions:
In a large bowl, mix together the minced chicken, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, salt, breadcrumbs, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well and form into small balls.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken balls and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, heat 2 tbsp oil. Add bay leaf, green cardamom pods, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Saute for a minute.
Add the finely chopped onion and saute until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.
Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and saute for a minute.
Add tomato puree and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the tomato puree is cooked through.
Add the fried chicken kofta balls to the gravy and mix well. Cook for a few minutes.
Add heavy cream and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with naan or rice.
