Bhuna chicken
Bhuna chicken is a popular Indian dish made with tender pieces of chicken that are cooked in a flavorful sauce made with a blend of aromatic spices. It is typically served with rice or roti and can be enjoyed as a main course. Here is a recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
1 cup plain yogurt
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Salt, to taste
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 inch ginger, finely grated
1 cup water
Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and coat them evenly with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Heat the oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and fry until the onion is soft and translucent.
- Add the marinated chicken to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, until it is browned on all sides.
- Add the water to the pan and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook the chicken for about 20-30 minutes, or until it is tender and cooked through.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti. Enjoy!
